John Stonehouse:

Marion Stonehouse:

My work with weathered wood was inspired while replacing a fence on our Shetland Croft. The old fence posts were intended for firewood, but the rich textural surfaces that I was handling and piling in the trailer demanded a new respect, so elegantly engraved were they by the elements of perhaps forty years. They became precious, and then were handled very carefully.
